You will receive an email confirming any changes to your appointment. Don’t forget to click ‘Confirm’ on the final screen to ensure your changes have been saved. If you do not receive a confirmation email, your changes were not saved and you should repeat the process, ensuring you click “Confirm” on the final screen.
To schedule, go to pearsonvue.com and sign in if you already have a Pearson account, if not, follow the prompts to create an account with Pearson VUE.
Once signed in, select your exam and follow the prompts to schedule your appointment. If online proctoring is available in your country, you will be able to select that delivery option during the scheduling process. You will also choose your exam language (English, Spanish, or German) as part of the appointment process.
Bathroom breaks are also not allowed in an online proctored delivery environment as you are not permitted to leave the room once testing begins. If you wish to have the option to take a restroom or other break during your exam, please take the exam at a Pearson VUE test center.
Please note that while the CTS exam is available in English, Spanish, and German, the proctoring software, greeter support, and proctor support are only available in English.
Click the “Check-in to start exam” link found in your confirmation, reschedule or reminder email. You can also log in directly at pearsonvue.com. Then select view your upcoming appointment and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the check-in process.

training and approved-manufacturer training. You may renew up to 180 days

No,
you are not required to complete any courses to complete the exam. The
preparation for the exam can be done based on what each individual needs.
However, we recommend you start with our course Quick Start to the AV
Industry if you are new to all things AV. Following that, we recommend our
AV Essentials track, including the four modules Audio 1, Video 1,
Networking 1, and AV Infrastructure. Finally, complete the
CTS-Prep track, including the modules Audio 2, Video 2, Networking
2, Creating AV Solutions, Implementing AV Solutions, and Servicing
AV Solutions. All modules can be completed in any order. As additional
practice, you may also refer to the AVIXA-Recognized AV Technologist Test,
AV Math, and our CTS Sample Questions, all of which can be
found on the Training Catalog.

Find a Pearson VUE Testing Center near you to take the CTS, CTS-D, and CTS-I exams. Online proctoring is also available for the CTS exam.

Certified individuals adhere to the CTS Code of Ethics and Conduct and maintain their status through continued education. Certification demonstrates commitment to professional growth in the audiovisual industry and is strongly supported by AVIXA®.
All eligibility, application, score reports, special accommodation requests and general inquiries regarding AVIXA certification will be handled through the AVIXA Certification Office, with headquarters located in Fairfax, Va., U.S.A. Purchases of education, membership, or any other AVIXA services are not required to seek certification.
